Analysis of a website

http://www.paolonutini.com/promo.htm

From clicking Paolo's website, straight away we get a picture of him and oh works of art from his album. Although this is only the promo page which doubles up as a link to get you to buy tickets and merchandise it gives a good insight to what the rest of the website will be like.

The picture below is a screenshot of the full website. As you can see it is very tidy and organised with gadgets such as a video player. It also has a quick navigate button on the left hand side with important things such as Lyrics, Store and Gallery on there. This is something I would like to add to our artists website if we made one.

I found Paolo's Website very easy and simple to use yet it had everything advanced on there I still believe that someone new to computers would still be able to find their way through this website. I found that many useful items such as a lyrics tab and a shows tab help the user get around quickly without having to use another website. I found the colour scheme of the website was very helpful too as the contrast between grainy peach and black work very well together.

How Star image has changed - Chris Brown

Chris Brown is a prime example of how an artist can change their image and their sound over the years as they overcome adversity. Chris Brown and Rihanna had a highly publicised break up with Chris Brown getting community service for allegedly beating Rihanna. After their break up Brown rebranded himself as the badboy of the music industry, this is an extreme change from his image and his sound before their breakup which suggested that he was innocent. The images show Chris Brown past and present. As you can see from these pictures, Brown has developed his images to present himself as changing from an innocent teenager to a man. Chris Brown's music used to speak to the teenage generation about love, however now he sings about money.

Star Image - Paolo Nutini

Paolo Nutini is a young Scottish singer signed to Atlantic records. Paolo's image now compared to his breakthrough in early 2006 when he was signed to Atlantic records hasn't changed very much, Paolo has kept true to his core fan base by sticking to his original genre and look, indie/alternate rock/pop. Many people may argue that Paolo doesn't look like a star when you compare him to other artists, he doesn't wear lots of jewellry or drive around in posh cars. These two images, the top one taken in 2006 and the bottom one taken in late 2011 shows that there hasn't much of a change in Paolo's personal appearance or music as you can hear through his albums he has always kept to what got him a recording deal which is the alternate indie/ jazzy pop music.

Preliminary Task Finished

http://zaqwehliye.blogspot.co.uk/2012/02/prelimnary-task-video.html
The Link Above will take you to Zaq from our group's blog, as I couldn't upload the link onto my blog from youtube. We found that the Preliminary task help to greatly develop our understanding of how a music video works and the editing process involved. We found the most difficult task was to synchronize the images to the music

Preliminary task storyboards

This storyboard contains our main ideas for the preliminary task. We had the idea for clowns to be used for our piece as we came up with the concept of Fraser, the performer to be in a dream state being chased by clowns.

This picture shows a part of a task sir set us out on, he played us a piece of music and asked us to develop a storyboard for the song without seeing the video. I found that this help to develop our ideas greatly as it improves the way that you think about the music and the meanings behind the lyrics.
