Jamie Thraves, is primarily a film director and writer yet has produced and directed numerous music videos such as the award winning video for Coldplay's The Scientist in 2003 and Radiohead's Just in 1995. From looking at both videos you can see how Thraves has changed his style. In the video for Just, there is primarily band performance shots however if you contrast this with The Scientist, there is almost no performance except for Chris Martin singing. I really liked the video for The Scientist as the entire video is backwards including the performance sections, the singer had to learn to the song backwards. As Just is Thraves' first music video and coming off the back of a film directing career i felt that the video was very much like a film in a way as it contained a strong narrative and subtitles so you had to pay attention.
